A great day

Yesterday was a great day...I really can't say why, nothing outstanding happened, but it was just perfect. I woke up really looking forward to the day, nothing special going on, but I was just happy to be spending it with the kids.

On the way to preschool, Isaac was munching on an apple, and by the time we got to school it was gone. I said "Was that a good apple?" and Isaac said "Mo bapple!" (More apple!)...it was the first time he's ever put two words together, so it was very cool to hear.

I dropped Mason and Charlotte off in their rooms, and had a great talk with Mason's teacher. Then I went to Sarah's house to try to assemble a bargain ride-on toy for Jack...unfortunately, the moron who originally purchased the toy and returned it had done irreperable damage in their assembly and it was unsalvageable. Nevertheless, it was nice to spend time with a friend.

By this time it had been snowing and the roads were getting icky...I picked up the kids, and we came home for a lunch. In the afternoon, Charlotte and I went out and shoveled the driveway, and then we made baked potato soup for dinner and a wonderful cranberry walnut salad. All this while Mason was spending some time on the computer, and Isaac was napping.

We had dinner as a family (the kids had scrambled eggs since they aren't fans of soup!), then we all played until bedtime. Then Matt and I went out to shovel snow...AGAIN.

This was a pretty average day for us really...like I said, the day was nothing spectacular...yet it was absolutely spectacular all at the same time. :)

There is something blessed in being happy with sameness, huh? :) And I love that your kids don't like soup! Neither do mine! They will each chicken noodle, but without the broth. :) I am so glad you had a great day!
