Whoa...

The kids and I are at my sisters house for a few days. My niece, Noah, LOVES to read. Noah, my nephew Jack, and Mason are sharing a bedroom while we are here. At bedtime last night I knew Noah went to bed wth a book and a flashlight so she could read without the light on to keep the other kids up. A little while later I went to check on Mason and found him laying in his sleeping bag reading a book.

He was reading SILENTLY (he usually reads outloud), a Magic Treehouse book with no (or very few) pictures. I asked him "What are you reading about in your book?" He said "I'm on chapter 4! Jack and Annie saw dolphins!" Whoa...it was a very strange Mommy moment for me. I knew he could read, but I have never seen him sit down and read a chapter book on his own. I'm so proud!
