Our baby girl is almost one month old already! WHERE does the time go??!? Now, to be honest, I am exhausted...my life for the last month has been feeding/burping/changing Maggie and trying to keep my head above water around here. Making sure everyone has clean clothes and that everyone is fed and clean is the only priority. I feel like I've been living in a cave...and can count on one hand the number of times I've been out of the house since Maggie has been born. I am thankful to see the nice weather and looking forward to spending some more time outside! All that aside, life is WONDERFUL...a new life in our house, a new baby to love...it really doesn't get any sweeter :)
Maggie has us wrapped around her little finger...and I love all of the things having her has brought us...for instance:
- I love how she zonks out at the end of a feeding...pulls away and has the little milk dribble coming out the side of her mouth...completely satisfied.
- I love how the other kids adore her. Isaac tells me "I like your baby Mommy!", Charlotte is always trying to entertain Maggie with a song, story, or toy, and Mason loves to give Maggie kisses on her head.
- I love the nights where Maggie has trouble getting settled in her crib and I pull her in bed with me for a long cuddle :)
- I love how, when she sleeps next to me, she will sleep FOREVER...and she doesn't even wake to eat! I have to wake her up when I sleep with her to eat she is just so content...
- I love discovering her new faces, hearing her little coo's, and seeing her little smile which I am CONVINCED she flashed me yesterday...we'll see :)
- I love getting to know her, I can now tell by her cry and the timing if she is hungry, lonely, or needs to be burped or changed.
- I love the way her little sleepy breath feels on my neck when I burp her.
- I love the way we are connected...she knows me and I know her...like we are still tethered together somehow.
- I love that I have enjoyed every single second God has given us with her...and look forward to enjoying every step as she continues to grow...
