So, let's start with today...
- Today I am thankful for the 30 minutes of quiet I had before anyone else got up.
- I am thankful that Maggie slept all night last night (a rare occurrence).
- I am thankful for my precious Savior and Lord, his blood shed for me, my world and my soul are nothing without Him.
- I am thankful for an amazing husband, who works hard, provides for our family, and leads us by setting a wonderful example of living a life for God.
- I am thankful for four healthy children, what a blessing!!
- I am thankful for our new church and the family we have found there, the opportunity to study God's word, and the amazing programs they have for the kids!
- I am thankful for our new membership to the Rochester Athletic Club and hopeful it will provide lots of fun for our family and, when needed, a nice break for a stressed out Mommy :)
I could go on, but I'll leave with an update on the kids:
Mason loves a challenge, intellectual or otherwise. He's SMART, he picks up on stuff fast, and homework is a snap for him. He's started the 'amazing' words on his spelling tests (5 extra hard ones) and he's mastered them. In fact, I never practice spelling with him at all and he almost always scores perfectly on his tests. He's also growing up...he's very willing to help me, his siblings, and take care of his own things. He showers on his own. He is responsible for his homework all on his own. He's an amazing kid :)
Charlotte is really into reading the Bible with us. A kids' version, yes, but she loves the stories and you can see her hanging on every word...wondering what is going to happen next. She loves to play outside and climb trees. She loves to play with Maggie and Isaac...although Isaac knows how to push her buttons. She loves to do art, as always, but now she keeps track of hers in her binder :) She also likes to put on puppet shows for us. She can brush out her own hair, and lately loves to use headbands to do it all by herself. She is learning how to read, and is at a level 2 in the library at school. She's making good progress. She is great at 'watching' Maggie while I change the laundry or make dinner. She's a perfectly precious daughter :)
Isaac is Isaac. He's a fiesty, three year old boy. He's learning his letters and sounds (more than he lets on). He likes preschool and Sunday school and Backyardigans. He's a little too rough with Maggie most of the time, but usually it's only out of love. He's a cuddler who loves to play in sand, dirt, mud and the bathtub. He draws on walls, jumps on couches, and pouts when he doesn't get his way (did I mention he is 3?) :) Oh, and he wants to be JUST like his big brother. He's my adorable, spunky, wonderful little boy.
Maggie is curious. She wants to get a hold of everything she sees. She loves to play on the stairs, but has mastered going down them now (we're not taking the baby gates down yet though!). She's very stable on her feet. She loves slides and swings, and always prefers to be outside. This is going to be a fabulous summer :) She loves to hug, cuddle, snuggle, and give kisses. She's always happy to see family come home (Charlotte, Mason, Daddy). She's talking and has many words that are actually starting to sound like words (her latest are 'bird' , 'grape', and 'fish'). She's losing her baby look and starting to get that 'big girl' vibe. She can pitch a fit when she doesn't get her own way...in scary 2 year old fashion. She signs about 10 signs to us, and can understand just about anything we say to her or ask of her....not that she always complies :) She's my angel, my heart, my sweet baby girl.
