Wedding weekend

Julie's wedding has come and gone! It started out not so great on Thursday...Sarah and Sterling got had someone hit their van on the way up to Appleton from Madison, everyone is ok, but it will mean another insurance claim! Julie fainted in the middle of the night on the kitchen floor, whacked her head which required a doctor's appointment on Friday morning, but she's fine. We learned Valium is a very versatile drug :) So we only had up to go after a few bad instances early on.

Friday was the doctor, church decorating, hall decorating, picking up dresses & rings, rehearsal, and finally the rehearsal dinner...during which we got a kick out of Kaden and his 'whacker' (it was a baseball bat)...kids are so innocent! Saturday was all about hair appts, lunch at Applebees (where apparently they didn't make enough room in the building for an office...a guy was looking through files 'hidden' under seat cushions!), and then to the church for make-up and getting dressed. It was a whirlwind...and I have no pictures to post as my matron-of-honorly duties prevented me from permanently attaching my camera to my hand. But that's why you hire a good photographer :) The ceremony went perfect, pictures after were a TON of fun, and dinner and the reception all went off without a hitch (no pun intended!) It was an incredible weekend filled with so many special sister moments. And I couldn't be happier for Julie...finally finding herself a good man.

The kids had a blast...dancing and dancing and dancing. They made it until about 9pm before Matt took them back to Julie's house. Mason fell on the dance floor and has a HUGE goose egg on his forehead, but it's looking better now. Charlotte managed to spill coffee all over mine and Julie's dresses. Thankfully, Julie was much more laid back about coffee on her wedding dress than any other bride in history would have been (did I mention the Valium?).

The true hero of the weekend...my husband! He was an amazing father handling the kids mostly by himself all weekend while I was off gallivanting around doing wedding things. He got up with them every morning (well...almost every morning), got the kids and himself all fancied up for the wedding, managed Mason's fit during my toast, went and dropped the kids off and put them to bed before coming back to the wedding to dance with me and have some more fun. Sunday I was a little out of sorts, and of course Matt took care of everything...packed up the van, fixed the screen door someone broke the night before ;), and drove the entire way back. He did this all so graciously, with no complaints, and always had a smile on his face. He is an amazing father and I couldn't ask for a better husband...my hero!
