Thoughts on life

I've been meaning to post this for a while. I was walking along the other day going to visit a friend in the hospital. An elderly couple walked towards me, the husband pushing his wife in a wheelchair. I notice I get a lot more smiles and hellos when I'm pregnant, but this couple looked at me with such genuine, happy, comforting expressions on their faces and they both said "Hello." I of course smiled back and returned the greeting.

Next I started to notice the expressions of everyone else I passed. A man obviously in a hurry...a woman frantically trying to get to work on time...people in general seemed stressed out and rushed. It made me think about the elderly couple again. They were just taking their time, and were as happy as I was to see a friendly face willing to say 'hello'.

I realized, THAT'S how life should be. Enjoying the moments. So often we are trapped in our own little world without realizing what is going on around us....we get stressed out, frantic, and unnerved by the details in our day and forget to look at the big picture...at this gift of LIFE we have been given.

I want to enjoy my life, every second of every minute with my husband, kids, friends, family, this baby growing inside me. Life is too short...I'm going to try my hardest to laugh more and stress less!
