TWELVE

Twelve...that is the number of years ago today that I met Matt. You hear stories about soul mates, about love at first sight, about knowing immediately when you meet someone that they are the one for you....hokey, fairy-tale type stuff...right?? But that is exactly what happened at happy hour at the Smiling Moose 12 years ago today.

We were introduced by our still amazing friends Dave & Sarah, we said 'hi', and actually shook hands. Dave knew Matt from his prior co-op at IBM, and I had just started working with Dave and Sarah weeks before. It wasn't until February 14th that we had our first date, but to me...the day we met...the moment we met is one that I will always remember vividly.

It wasn't long after that...a few weeks maybe...that I took Matt back to Green Bay to meet my family. I remember him sleeping while I drove in my red Altima. There's a song that has the lyrics "When I look at you, I see the souls of our unborn children." And I remember how it took my breath away when I looked over at him and saw just that. Crazy, I know, but true.

In the last 12 years we have had some incredible journeys, and our toughest yet most incredible still lie ahead in raising our 4 children and seeing where life takes us. The moment we met was amazing...and I look forward to every single one of our moments to come.
