Charlotte has H1N1. Three kids in her preschool class have confirmed cases. Her pediatrician this morning said we might as well save the money on the test...based on her symptoms and exposure we can just assume she has it. She had a fever last night of around 101 and this morning I clocked her at 105.5...I know this seems high to some, but for Charlotte 105.5 is pretty standard. It's funny how 105 degrees isn't even scary to me anymore, it just means that's time to keep a close eye on it and start alternating meds (Tylenol & Motrin) if we need to.
We're not doing Tamiflu for Charlotte or any of the rest of us...just doesn't make sense. And being pregnant I can't take it anyway.
My honest thoughts, the media is making WAY too big a deal out of this and it's causing too much fear in the public. It's never easy to see your kids sick though... please pray she's feeling better soon! Charlotte should start feeling better by the weekend...but until this has cleared the house we'll be hermits...which means I get to hang out in my jammies for a week :)

I agree about the media...scaring people into getting the vaccine. They are actually giving out the shot at schools, crazy!

Hmmm...apparently someone wants me to lock down my blog? If you have the balls to post a controversial article in my comments at least have the spine to identify yourself and have a real discussion...go away.
Don't you just hate those anon comments? I use statcounter and was able to (kindof) track my anonymous dude. After I asked him/her how the weather was in his/her town and how they enjoyed the University (from the IP address) he/she went away.
Feel better!

Oh, I hope Charlotte is on the mend, and wow, wouldn't it be nice if the rest of you didn't get it! As for your creepy anonymous poster...wired magazine is creepy in itself. I have read a few articles from there (when I was teaching technology) and found myself arguing with the authors EVERY TIME! I agree with you on the media over blowing it. More people die from the regular flu every year! Some virtual chicken soup to you all!
