Happy Birthday, Mason!

Oh SO LATE on this post. Our travels have taken us to Michigan and back again lately, then we had a wonderful visit from Grandma and Grandpa Cushing.


However, in all the busyness...my little boy turned SEVEN!!


Mason, my sweet boy, you are an AMAZING person. You are so tuned in to other people, you know just how to say the right thing to make me feel better if I am blue...and just how to be a big help when I need it most. I am almost surprised at how brilliant you are...your reasoning...your logic...your problem solving methods - I sometimes forget you are ONLY 7 when you can follow my grown-up logic so easily at times (math short-cuts in particular!).


You LOVE school. You are now in first grade and you have never hesitated to get on the bus. You are happy, proud, and confident...and I love seeing these traits in you.


On your birthday, I always remember the day you came into this world. My baby that FIRST made me a Mama...oh the joy I had the first time I saw your face...my beautiful boy! You changed me, in that instant, forever....for the better. And I thank God for you.


I'm thankful you still like to cuddle, and get hugs from me. You also like to goof off...as any 7 year old boy does, I'm sure. You love your little sisters, especially the littlest who loves to LAUGH at your entertaining antics. You love your little brother...although sometimes you just like to push his buttons!


You have gone through quite the growth spurt and you are now about 56 pounds, and about 54 inches, I'm guessing. You are sweet and thoughtful and I simply couldn't love you more.
