Thunderstorms and three year olds

We had a storm come through during naptime today. Mason was down in his bed whimpering for Mommy. I went into his room and he said,

"Mommy, God was scaring me!"
I said, "It's just a little storm, it'll be ok."

So we went upstairs to watch a movie, and he told me,

"Mom, I told God, 'Please stop scaring me, God.' I used my manners with God." Then he continued, "There's lots of thunder out there, can I sit on your lap, Mom?"

He had tears in his eyes when he asked, he was truly scared. All I can say is it feels nice to snuggle my three year old and know that Mommy's lap can take the fear away. I love being a Mom!
