I had a doula client call me in labor yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon at 3:30pm...I went up to the hospital by 4pm. I just got home today (Wednesday) about an hour ago...at 10:15am. Yes, that's 18 hours straight...overnight, not a wink of sleep, in the hospital.
Thankfully, all went well for Mom & Baby...but I am so tired and will have to spend a fair portion of Christmas Eve catching up on sleep. I can't even remember the last time I actually pulled an all-nighter.
Oh, this was my February client too...she went VERY early. Now I just hope my DECEMBER client due anyday doesn't go into labor until I get semi-caught up on sleep!!
