Tonight, we made a birthday cake for Jesus for tomorrow. It was a chocolate cake made from scratch. The kids all helped by adding ingredients and mixing, and of course as soon as we were done Isaac, in particular, was waiting not so patiently for his beater to lick. Here's the conversation:
Isaac: "I want a bite, Mommy!! I WANT A BITE, MOMMY!!"
Me: "I know you do, please be patient and you'll get it in a minute."
Charlotte (folding hands): "God, please help Isaac be patient."
Me (VERY surprised!): "Charlotte, that was very sweet!!:
Mason (in the next room): "God, please let me get a bite of that soon."
Ahhhh...well, he tried :)

How cute! I like your idea of baking a b-day cake...wish I had thought of that last night. When we were headed to the Christmas Eve service, I told the kids it was kind of like a birthday party for Jesus...and, of course, when we got there Travis was wondering where the cake was! My guess is he would have liked your birthday party better than the one at church! :)
This made me laugh out loud! I can't wait until Sylas starts talking and the funny things he will say... or maybe I can... it all goes by too fast, you are right.
